With the elimination comes an end to a pretty good All Star Season for the 9YO that was highlighted with a trip to the semi finals of the WNLL tournament. I would like to thank all the coaches on and off the field and the parents for their support during the All Star season. It was a treat for me to watch these boys come together and grow as a team as the games went on and I was especially proud of how many times they kept fighting back to complete some fantastic wins. Everyone of you should hold your head high, you had a great All Star Season.

Nanuet’s 11/12 year old girls softball team completed their 2014 all star campaign with another tournament victory to add to their little league collection. It’s been a great run for this group of girls. Many of them have been playing together on our all star teams for four years. They capped off their Nanuet Little League careers with another outstanding performance. We’re all so proud of how they represented Nanuet Little League all these years. We wish them well and know we can expect great things in their future endeavors. Their manager and leader John Dallesandro had the following to say about our ladies in black and gold:
This weekend the 12yr old softball division won the Hank Jaxel tournament for the 2nd time.
Nanuet 14 – New City 2
Nanuet 5 – Pearl River 2
Nanuet 12 – West Nyack/Congers 6
We played South Orangetown in the championship with a final score of 8 – 4
This group of girls accomplished more than any other in Nanuet LL softball. In 4 years of play their overall record is 25 - 5
2011 Brady Champions
2012 Hank Jaxel Champions
2013 NY State Champions
2014 Hank Jaxel Champions
The girls’ success lies in their outstanding defense and pitching. I am very proud of them because of their ability to play as a team. Win or lose, they are great friends who support each other.
Their next achievement together will be a high school championship for Nanuet. It was an honor and pleasure for Sue and I to coach them all these years.
The NLL 10 year old all stars kicked off the SOLL special tournament with a dramatic 6-5 victory over Suffern Thursday night. The Nanuet 9YO baseball all-stars finally got the tournament underway Thursday night with a fantastic nail-biting win over Suffern 11-10. It was great team performance with everybody chipping in. Kevin Saxton/Ryan Frondi/Jack Fitzmaurice did a great job keeping us in the game and Thomas Maher came in to shut it down in the bottom of the 6th for the save. The bats also came alive with a couple of blasts from Ryan Olson and Mike Peraglia with great timely at bats from Ryan Owens and Brendan O’Sullivan and a clutch steal of home by Jake O’Sullivan. We had some spectacular defensive plays by Ryan Peterson and Logan Scott and an incredible catch by Josh Lopez in centerfield that probably saved the win for us.
Last night, the Nanuet 9YO baseball All Stars played their second game and it was another nail biter. Unfortunately they ended up on the wrong side of a 10-7 loss. The team played well as a whole with a couple of really good plays, especially catching a runner stealing home, a nice 1-3-6 double play. The bats weren’t as lively as last night but they were in it all the way to the bottom of the sixth with the tying run at the plate with two outs. They have made to the elimination round as one of the top six teams so we will have a bye tomorrow and play Sunday 7/13 @ 2:00 PM vs Ramapo at West Nyack with the winner making it to the semifinals.
